JAMF on prem
What do you like best about the product?
Zero day support for new Apple OS released (Both iOS and MacOS).
What do you dislike about the product?
Takes too much time to get knowledgable support engaged for tier 2 issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Provides the ability to manage both Mac and iOS devices, simplifies deployments with DEP integration, and makes keeping our Macs up to date easy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
hands down best Mac and iOS management solution available. JAMF works closely with Apple to ensure zero day support and focuses on Apple specific needs vs. others that either focus on MDM as a whole or aren't Mac centric.

Jamf Pro - the center of my universe.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that I can manage all aspects of my MacOS infrastructure (configuration profile, VPP, patching, software distribution, etc.,) from one location.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is really nothing I "dislike". I do wish there were some additional features available, like the ability to change the theme color for different environments (Prod, DEV, UAT). Would also like to have the ability to import information from a spreadsheet or text file to create a group.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As stated above, the problems being solved are the ones common in a large, distributed workplace (centralized device manage, patching, software licensing)
The benefits we are realizing is the ability to manage a globally disbursed client base with less resources.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a way to centrally manage Apple devices in an enterprise environment, Jamf Pro is your solution. On-prem setup is painless, less than 1 day with professional services. Jamf Cloud setup was even easier.
Using Jamf in a school district enviroment
What do you like best about the product?
With the recent move from apple to 10.13 we have had to dive deep into Jamfs DEP Provisioning. It's been a wonder to add a device and watch as Jamf takes over and gets everything ready for the end user. Additionally being able to use jamf for not only inventory but to assist in recovering lost or stolen assets has helped us greatly in the past and will do so again in the future.
What do you dislike about the product?
Other than Jamfs version numbers? I'd love to have more control over what a user can do. We have a number of techs that push out packages and scripts using Jamf remote however we would like to prevent them from creating policies within Jamf Pro. We have had issues with badly scoped ongoing policies causing trouble in the past.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have always had a number of users who run updates once a year if we are lucky. Patch Management has saved us in this respect. It's wonderful to walk up to a machine and know that all software updates have been taken care of.
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to enroll and manage all of our iPads and Macbooks in one central location. The ability to push new apps and remove old ones all at once is a huge time savings, and I like the ability to lock a device when it's lost. We recently started pushing our policies and configuration profiles to our Macbooks and it's worked amazingly. Love this feature!
What do you dislike about the product?
The device name doesn't remain after wiping or resetting the device. We have ours set for the students graduation year and name, and a configuration policy set so students can't change it. When a device has to be reset or wiped, we have to remove the configuration policy from that device and reset the device name, then reapply the configuration policy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Management of all devices is a huge time savings for us. We can find lost iPads, see what apps are installed, what iOS version and app versions are on devices.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jamf Pro is an amazing tool to use when needing to remotely manage numerous devices. Pre-Stages and Smart Groups let you set different configurations for groups of devices. We push printers and software to our Macbooks, and apps to our iPads. Location services also allows us to find lost devices, and lock them down so they can't be used.
Jamf - the clear mac solution
What do you like best about the product?
JAMF allows an Apple staff of one (me) support the entire organization with ease. JAMF support is amazing and very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not found anything I dislike yet with JAMF.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having macs in our enterprise managed through JAMF management has changed their mind and now is actively encouraging users to get a mac after a hardware refresh. Apple environment is growing monthly.
Jamf Pro is a lifesaver
What do you like best about the product?
Having and using Jamf Pro in our organization has made a huge difference. It has cut down countless hours of work otherwise just to manage all the Apple products that we use. Updating machines is now a breeze. I really enjoy how quick Jamf is with updating Jamf Pro when Apple has OS updates or any of the like. Support has been really on top of it as well. If we have any issues, they are there and are very helpful. The online community is a huge help as well. You can find almost anything you need in the community. I have used tons of ideas, scripts, etc from the Jamf community.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, there isn't a whole lot to not like about Jamf. It is so simple to administer. There are a few enhancements I wouldn't mind having them jump on though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zero touch deployment is awesome. Why spend hours just to provision a MacBook Pro to a new associate? Updating software through Jamf Pro is a breeze. Jamf Pro has literally saved me who knows how many hours and days to focus elsewhere.
Best MDM for Mac.
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and good support. We don't have to worry about issues with this product and it is easy for our end users.
What do you dislike about the product?
The likelihood of things to break in each update
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing thousands of devices with a small IT department and minimal involvement
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just do it. You spend more but get a quality product.
JAMF Pro -- K-12 Opinion
What do you like best about the product?
I like the flow, it meshes well. It is so much better then where we were in the past.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think one of the only things that I dislike are some feature request that have not be implemented. Unfortunately, most of these are not in JAMFs court....but the simple fact that apple has not allowed that functionality yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The fact that I manage 28, 000 devices with the click of a mouse. In K-12 education, we always have more devices and problems then most folks do in corporate. We also have limited resources when it comes to the amount of staff we have.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think at the end of the day, KISS. I cant tell you how many conversations I've had with folks who are simply over complicating the MDM side of the house. They basically want to "micro manage" devices, apps, access.
This is sometimes needed but 9-10 in the Education market, this is not the case. If its a free Application, who cares if its a "Third Grade" app and a "Second Grader" can see it? Hell, maybe they will download the App and continue to improve the knowledge and skill set and get to a high reading / math level on their own.
Which, at the end of the day, when it comes to project based learning / independent learning....thats what we are going for. We want our students to become independent learners.

Great product with even better support
What do you like best about the product?
Ive been using jamf Pro for 3 years now, it offers a lot of ability and is somewhat easy to learn but you can really go down the rabbit hole with options and features. This product offers a lot! The most import thing for me is the support, the support team is fantastic. When i do have to call in, its usually complicated problem and their ability to call on resources within Jamf is huge, i can get my issues resolved very quickly without a "band-aid" solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the web interface is a little slow. Also not being able to force a retry of config profiles can be a pain.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In a school, being able to give teachers control over student devices is amazing! We are also able to push out app teachers need very quick and have a wide scale deployment with ease!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Support is amazing, dont worry about calling if you have an easy or a complex problem. We are currently using on-prem and it runs smoothly, but i would recommend cloud based if you can.
Fantastic product! Makes managing Apple devices a cinch.
What do you like best about the product?
I love how intuitive the Jamf's GUI is and the community behind it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jamf support is great but not as great as it used to be. Seems like their priority now is to close a ticket and not help me find the actual solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf help centralize our management of apple computer and mobile devices. We use jamf to streamline hardening our computers and devices for PCI compliance. Streamlining workflows and automating everything form re installing the OS, onboarding a user, to even offboarding is now a second thought, which were previously tome consuming tasks.
