Fantastic headless CMS implementation with lots of features missing from many competitors
What do you like best about the product?
Really like how they are API-first and have implemented a very well designed implementation of a headless CMS with support for complex relationships and components. The ease of implemenation and features around webhooks and graphql made it super straightforward for our team to replace our old google spreadsheet implementation with Hygraph. Hygraph has become an indidpensible part of our daily operations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The have a couple different version of their UI's and while both solve many of the hard problems that come with CMS management and rich relationships, as a power user, I continue to hope for them to continue to get better. In a similar fashion, version management with related entities is a really hard problem to solve and while I think they are ahead of the competition, there is still a lot that frustrates me when trying to understand whats published now, what previously was published before and what the history of changes looks like not just on the content itself but also on the entites and relationships.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it to define our business rules that drive our application and the database of internal entities that can be used for business rules. We rely heavily on their components and entity relationships to drive our business logic.

Best headless CMS out there, have been using it since 2019 when it was called GraphCMS
What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to use with a very intuitive GraphQL API and the free layer is generous enough that a simple project can fully run on it. Their support is second-to-none and I have found they address any rare issues quickly. The fact they also have custom components that can be added to models is a major plus, and I use Hygraph on a daily basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes they roll out updates with breaking changes. While they allow users to stay on previous versions until they are ready to move, that makes it a bit harder occasionally to keep using the latest version, although this hasn't happened over the past 12 months, so maybe they've learned from past experiences.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hygraph allows localisable content to be served in very prescribed ways to web projects, providing great flexibility for users while maintaining a strict unbroken design.

What do you dislike about the product?
Downsides of using Hygraph is, it needs to include like Vendor/Client executives on front-end side. The inconveniences of utilizing hygraph is restricting the substance id's to be utilized once and furthermore legitimate documentation isn't given to the client while utilizing its product.

Building an Astro starter kit using Hygraph as the content backend
What do you like best about the product?
From a content perspective, Hygraph is relatively easy to learn and use for non-technical staff, especially compared to other CMSs on the market. It offers pretty much all the features you might need, including prosaic but handy integrations with platforms such as Netlify and Vercel meaning that a static site build does not have to be triggered everytime a document is updated / published. As I'm working with Astro, the new Hygraph content loader that enables you to use Hygraph data with Astro's content layer is a great addition to the developer experience. This means your front-end templating code is typesafe and can be consistent across different data sources. It also means Hygraph's API is nicely abstracted away from your front-end.
What do you dislike about the product?
Working with GraphQL is not to everyone's liking and this certainly makes setting up more complicated queries to work with Astro's content layer a little more complicated. However, the set up is pretty much limited to your config file in Astro's content folder, allowing you to use Astro's built in methods to fetch and display your content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hygraph offers a fully-featured headless CMS that lets you (as a developer) easily decouple your content from the front-end, allowing for greater flexibility when it comes to your tech stack and deployment options. Away from the technical aspects of development, the authoring experience for non-technical uses is straightforward whilst offering a great deal of flexibility and powerful features / integrations.
The best headless CMS I've used
What do you like best about the product?
I highly respect platforms like Hygraph for offering a generous free teir. Currently I use Webstudio (possibly the best visual front end develpment tool) and I was looking for a CMS option to integrate with for my projects. I came across Hygraph and thought I'd give it a try. Registering was quick and painless as was getting up and runing with my first test project. It was super qucik and easy for me to impelement a working solution. I haven't had any experience with their customer support as I did not require any assistance or have any issues so far which is great. All in all I've liked everything about this platfrom and for anyone looking for a powerful, scalable headless CMS I highly recommend giving Hygraph a try.
