Absolutely Love Asana

  • January 18, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the visibility that Asana gives our Stakeholders. Through using Asana we've taken what used to be 3-4 hour meetings and trimmed them down to 30 minute meetings!
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that they don't have a solid Windows Phone app is the only thing that i would say that i dislike about Asana. Considering the tools that Microsoft provides to easily make apps that bridge all 3 platforms, i don't know why people continue to treat us Windows Phone users like the black sheep!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
API Integration was easily implemented. Ability to associate tasks with one another while keeping them organized by area of concern, while still providing great visibility and notification of progress has been life changing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely give Asana a shot if you're at all unhappy with your current task software

Helpful but found different interfaces difficult to use simultaneously

  • January 17, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The sharability of tasks and the help it gives to do project management in separable locations. This was a huge solution to our meshing of various different projects under the same realm in our previous interfaces. The customer service reached out to us multiple times after we got going to make sure there was nothing else that we might need (huge bonus).

The side tab has been nice in being able to quickly change to make a note on a second existing project while it's on my mind (with the craze of running a small non-profit that is rapidly growing, this was a big deal).
What do you dislike about the product?
I had a hard time really using the calendar along with the project management

also wish there were more uses connected to informing our clients that a project is finished through asana when they themselves don't use asana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
one business problem that this has helped us to resolve was a database of projects to see patterns of the work that we may be getting more frequently as we grow from a small business.

project and program managament for sewing and woodworking.

organization! projects had certainly lacked many fine lines of what goes where, asana gave sectors for things to live in and a common diction of where to find them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be weary that it is not a replacement to email. That was a difficult thing for us to sort through along with archiving being a little bit messy / having recurring orders in production was easier to do on paper than asana at a certain point of it no longer being as "user friendly" in that respect.

Excellent project management tool!

  • January 10, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, Asana was easy to set up and easy to implement. With over 140 active clients our offices needed a strong project management software to help our 20 staff work efficiently and successfully.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no reporting or export feature and the calendar sync is weak with Outlook.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to better manage client projects, staff work loads and assignment deadlines.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have an implementation plan and processes in place to begin with your team.

Increased Productivity with Asana

  • December 21, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Asana provides a seamless way for my manager to assign tasks and monitor my progress, as well as provide notes for tasks I need to complete.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not found anything that I dislike about Asana. It provides all of the services that I expect it to for a free software, and have been very satisfied thus far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the problem of organizing the workload around the team. It can be hard at times to keep everything you need to get done in order, and Asana provides a seamless way to visualize all of your tasks with their due dates in one place.

The main benefit of Asana is the ability to stay on track and keep all of your tasks in order.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is well worth a try as it has a free version that can be set up in minutes.

Asana helps me organize web design projects.

  • December 20, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that Asana now offers project management tools in both list and tile formats. I personally prefer the list format. It's easy to see our progress at any given time. It also makes it super simple for me to quickly look at a project and see whether we're on track to finish on time and on-budget. Project management for website design projects can be a nightmare, but Asana really has helped me stay on top of my client work, and has helped my sanity!
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana's user interface can be a bit confusing at times. There are so many capabilities, and it can be challenging to discover what formats and configurations will work best for me. I assume after a while longer of experimenting with formats, I'll get a more concrete system down.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has helped me avoid overwhlem and disorganization in my largest client projects. I used to use Google spreadsheets for project management, and Asana gives me the same benefits, but with more capabilities. My working speed is much quicker now that I have Asana to automate some of my tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try out the free version, and give yourself time to adjust to the format. There are also helpful blog articles with suggestions on how to organize projects, along with examples.

What do you like best about the product?
The satisfaction of crossing tasks off my list. Being able to manage team tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish it was easier to disable email notifications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miscommunication of task delegation. Asana allows us to be on the same page.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the flexibility of asana. You can set up projects in a large variety of ways based on what works for you and your team.
What do you dislike about the product?
it seems like Asana continues to have improvements and feature additions that only make it better - no complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I think it is kind of a one-stop shop for project management, etc. It makes it so you don't have to use a ton of different products.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think this the best free (and paid) project tracking software out there.

What do you like best about the product?
Always being in the loop with each team members tasks and the feeling of checking items off a virtual to-do list.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to share tasks across our team and leaders are able to assign items to the correct individual within the organization.

Asana is a useful - but slow - tool

  • June 15, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can create multiple projects and just share them with those on the project. I also like that I get email notifications with updates, and that it's a one stop shop for my ongoing projects. I love that when I have future tasks to complete, I can put it on the list, set the due date, and then forget about it until that date. I have been able to plan tasks for the next 6 months with my Asana task list. I also like that I can set recurring tasks to repeat - I do a lot of the same things on a weekly basis, and Asana allows me to automate that so I don't have to keep writing it down or remember all the little weekly tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is very slow, and often takes too long to load. It also crashes regularly, so my workflow is slowed down. I also dislike that on my task list, once an item is on the list, I cannot drag it around on the list. Sometimes I want to put things in a specific order (i.e., prioritize) and I can't do that without deleting the task and recreating it in the spot I want.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking progress for individual projects for 40+ people. The benefit is that I can see updates for the projects in real time, without having to have a meeting. I can also customize each project to meet each individual's needs. On the flip side, when multiple projects are similar in structure, I can create them quickly using a saved template. I am also using Asana to keep track of my tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It doesn't look like each company can customize the platform, so you'll have to figure out how to conform to Asana's constraints.
I recommend using Asana to organize team meetings - it's an efficient way for people to see what's on the agenda and add items/comments. It also allows for quick updates from all team members, especially if you have a lot of folks attending a meeting.
