Simple Collaboration & Updates
What do you like best about the product?
The best part of Asana is the convenient comments and updates on projects and tasks. My team often leaves updates on a project after recent progress, feedback from a business partner, or new challenges that have recently come to light. When we review projects together, we have the whole history of updates - great for 1-on-1 meetings or teams discussions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is meant to keep things simple - I get it. However, I wish the attachments functionality was a little more robust, including being able to easily see and access attachments from the detail screen of a task. In addition, sub-tasks are somewhat "out of sight, out of mind" which doesn't help when managing more complex projects. Again, it's meant to be simple, but a little more functionality in those two areas would go a long way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project status and connectedness - I manage two small teams and work on my own projects as well. That means I'm not as connected to my teammates as I'd like to be. When jumping from one team to the other, it helps to have a simple way to see everything that is going on with the other team. I like the freedom to manage my projects however I wish to organize them. Asana helps me stay connected, updated, and all in a way that works for me.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I compared 12-15 small teams solutions before sticking with Asana. I suggest you trial more than one product to compare. Do it for just two projects and only briefly. Asana makes it easy to trial because they allow free use without contracts, etc., for multiple teams up to 15 members each. You might even end up using Asana for free for a long time. You can always pay for more features later.

Good task management system
What do you like best about the product?
Can build out tasks and all deliverables so everyone can follow a project, or part of project. Good reminders.
What do you dislike about the product?
sometimes gets a bit messy with file drafts going back and forth with uploads - need to make sure looking at correct version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving lack of communication within different department teams. Again everyone can be on the same page about their deliverables on a project and see how the timeline will affect other items in the project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great project management system. Make sure have clear guidelines when uploading documents into the system so can ensure everyone is looking at the same thing. Also to consider all files on there, make sure you take down and save for posterity use as well.
The calendar function is great when you need to look at a quick snapshot of everything left for a project. It would be great if you could do a multi-calendar function, such as look at numerous projects on one calendar.

Asana makes remote collaboration so much better
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is one of those few products that has acheived every rung of the User Experience ladder. Not only does it have a feature for all my needs, but its delightful user interface makes it a pleasure to use. It really is the easiest way for teams to track their work—and get results.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to think of something I don't like about Asana. At first I didn't like that only one person could be assigned to a task, as many tasks are assigned to multiple people, but when I researched why this was, I found that it was based on Steve Job's philosophy of one person holding the ultimate accountability. After that, I liked that feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is wonderful for remote collaboration. Sadly, Skype and other video chat features still aren't as great as we thought they would be. We still aren't holograms sitting in a virtual conference room, so being on the same page can be tricky. Asana makes collaboration easy and keeps everyone on the same page. Best of all, it works with apps like Slack.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give Asana a chance. I think this company is definitely headed in the right direction. It was started by two employees at Facebook as an internal tool and therefore they really understand workflows and UX. It's also beautifully designed, which makes it especially enjoyable.
Unicorns are Everything
What do you like best about the product?
I love the simple/sleek interface that is fun to use. Form and function in harmony always win me over.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how infrequently I get a unicorn. There's not much else I can say here.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Teams in different locations. Assigning tasks to others and myself so things don't slip through the cracks. Keeping track of file versions. Keeping team members in the know about workflow dependencies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There is more robust software out there, but ask this: Do you REALLY need all that stuff? And, will your staff use it? We have found that Asana actually gets used because of it's good looking interface, it's simplicity/ease-of-use, and the little bits of character that make it fun. Basecamp is another great option, depending on what your needs are. Every other project management software we have attempted to use have failed miserably simply because they were not enjoyable to use.
Great project management system!
What do you like best about the product?
I love the different options you can have for how you organize your projects. I'm a huge list person, so having the main checklists and sub lists within each project is my favorite option.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes some time to fully understand the features of the program. Watching some tutorials or asking someone who has previous experience can easily help this issue though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management and keeping track of deadlines is the main problem that Asana has helped me with. I used to forget about small details when I had multiple projects to manage at one time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to learn all of its features, it can greatly benefit your organization and productivity if you're managing multiple projects at once.
Team and Project Collaboration in a single tool
What do you like best about the product?
As far as a tool that can be used for many purposes, Asana might be king. It can function as a todo list, project tracking, a collaboration tool, a kanban board, and many other functions with the use of the different integrations available. For myself and my company, the kanban/todo functionality combined with the teams makes asana a great tool to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
With all the features that Asana has, it can be sometimes daunting to use them. One of the biggest things I dislike is the lack of flow or at least it has too much flexibility. Without identifying how Asana should be used first, it is difficult for the team to use it the same.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The most important problems that are being solved involve project tracking and team collaboration. The biggest benefits are that more people seem to be in the "know" and work is being tracked.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have an idea on how the company or team as a whole should use asana before giving it to everyone. If you have to create guidelines and templates before giving access, do so. It makes product adoption difficult if only some people use it other people avoid it.
Solid and easy to use Project Management tool with no cost
What do you like best about the product?
Have used the free version with several organizations and everyone is always very happy with how easy the tool is to learn and use. It does a good job of tracking tasks, allowing for sharing of files and sending emails when appropriate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Have seen some limitations with the free version which I believe do not exist in the paid version. At one point tried to sync it with TFS and I believe hit a speed bump there as well but may also be tied to using the free version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our IT department uses TFS but several departments that work closely with IT had a need for a Project Management tool that was easy to learn and low cost but still offered what was needed for them to better manage the projects and become more efficient. Asana allowed all of that to happen
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great product and can meet many needs for little or no cost
One of the best project management tools out there
What do you like best about the product?
Using Asana for many years and on multiple projects in various organizations (and personal), I can really recommend Asana as project management tool. It's not your all- in-one tool, but the simplicity makes the technology disappear so that you can focus on the work. If you need some more functionality, the integrations with other services work great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the limited feature-set is concerning, because you have to pay another company again for more features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All project management and remote working team management.
Quick review of Asana
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it is available on Windows and Android unlike all the other apps which are great e.g Sketch only being available on Mac
Task management is great.
Navigation is superb and easy to understand
The boards provide a perfect graphical view of the stages where various tasks are at.
The weekly reminder of what tasks have been completed and how many are pending help in tracking progress.
The due date feature on tasks make time management easy so as the team can work within allowed timelines.

What do you dislike about the product?
Too many options/Features, if you are new you can be overwhelmed and get confused on what which feature does.
Limited dashboards on the free plan
I hope this app would have been free or a once buy off instead of monthly payments.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go right ahead it is all worth it. For smaller teams you actually do not need to buy a subscription since the free plan gives you unlimited projects and accepts teams of upto 15 people, this is more than a normal startup employee base like here in Kenya.
And just like any other software out there, when you are trying it out keep an open mind because there may be one or two things that you may not like, but trust me, Asana is by far the best task management app i have come across personally. There may be better ones out there but for now, Asana is a win!!

2. The navigation of Asana is good, makes it easy to find what you are looking for.
3. The introduction of boards on Asana was a huge step to making Asana the best task managing app, with the dragging of task around boards makes it easy to move the tasks around.
4. Assigning of users to tasks and tagging of tasks with priority levels and due dates for each task makes it easy to collaborate with your team regardless if they are on the same room or halfway across the world.

What do you dislike about the product?
I didn't it when i could not move my earlier projects from list form to boards when boards were introduced. It will have been nice if i could do that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team management, i work with a team which is in India and i with another team here in Kenya, so collaboration of work and division of tasks was becoming a problem but with Asana, this is no longer an issue.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go ahead and try it out, you won't regret it at all. If you have used Trello then consider this like a Trello 2.0 because it has all those features plus more and then improved and made more appealing and relatable.
