Great no-hassle option for data ingestion
What do you like best about the product?
The number of connectors, visibility into the ingestion process, ease of setup, ease of use
What do you dislike about the product?
Database connectors can be expensive, and streaming ingestion is limited
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We introduced Fivetran to ingest data from third parties, and it was the perfect option. The total cost of ownership is much lower than with a custom solution, and everything worked as expected out of the box!

What do you dislike about the product?
- Pricing can get pretty expensive and is hard to calculate (as is it based on MAR)
- dbt integration has still a lot of room for improvement (and is pretty pricey as well)

Buy instead of self build data pipeline. For most usecases it is just basic config and works perfectly. Depending on your plan you can even go to neartime reporting scenarios (sync every 5 or 15 minutes with the source data)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Fivetran is pretty good at what it is supposed to do (data pipeline as a service)
Seamless Ease & Excellent Visibility
What do you like best about the product?
I've had a lot of bad experiences with "out of the box" data connectors so I began my relationship with Fivetran with a lot of skepticism. I have been blown away by every step of the process. The sales process was easy and accomodating, pricing was upfront and transparent. Setting up the connections to my data was so easy that I couldn't believe I'd done it correctly the first time. The visibility into the load, performance, and errors on my various connectors is also excellent and helps me stay on top of any issues that do crop up. I'm only scratching the surface of what FiveTran has to offer but so far I've been very pleased.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far I haven't had a single complaint.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As with most, our use with Fivetran is to move the data from the various tools we use into our data warehouse. In our case, we are taking data from things like Stripe, Hubspot, Facebook Ads, and on and on, and sending all of those various sources into Google BigQuery.
FiveTran Gets it Done
What do you like best about the product?
FiveTran isn't perfect, and we had some concerns about their pricing model -- but DAMN does it work really well. It took us about 30 minutes to configure everything and have data replicating from source system to data warehouse. Well worth the cost.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing model gives me some pause, and I don't like that there is an upcharge to version data (e.g. store different permutations of rows as data changes... but again it's worth it).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Replicating data from source systems to data warehouse. This helps our small team focus on modeling data and driving business value rather than on extracting and loading data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to re-evaluate and investigate other vendors (e.g. AirByte), but if you need to move quickly and can afford it, Fivetran is best in class.
Lume Fivetran Experience
What do you like best about the product?
The ease with which connections can be established and the manner in which FiveTran handles delta loads
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes we have challenges with the default API connector and the MySQL connectors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data loading from multiple data sources. Scheduling of data extractions on a daily basis. Love the product.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Leverage built-in connectors with FiveTran as much as possible. Have a DBA ready when working on connections as there are often little nuances that they are needed for.
Seamless integration, pay for only what you use!
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to implement, pay by row, great customer support, easy UI, fast onboarding. Easy to integrate with Snowflake and other cloud platforms. Has many great out-of-the-box solutions that other competitors do not have.
What do you dislike about the product?
Non-intuitive marketing reports, cannot seem to get a 1:1 with marketing platform data such as facebook, pinterest, google etc. Lacks integrations such as Impact.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrate data into one centralized location. In-real time data ingest.
Great, easy to use pay as you go ELT tool to get data into your data warehouse
What do you like best about the product?
The set up to connect your sources to your data warehouse is a snap, literally in minutes like they advertise. Large array of supported source connections, with support for ad hoc spreadsheet uploads via Google Sheets or emailing CSVs.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's some source connectors not supported yet like Facebook leadgen data, so definitely compare what's available out of the box and read the fine print. I haven't tried Stitch or Matillion, so you should compare against those tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Salesforce, Netsuite (new version coming soon), Google Sheets and CSV connectors are great for us, and everything syncs seamlessly into our Snowflake instance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Compare to Stitch and Matillion and make sure your major sources and destination data warehouse are supported.
Simple and easy
What do you like best about the product?
Connecting a data source is so much easier when I can just click to login to a new source
What do you dislike about the product?
Considering we could build our own etl it is quite expensice
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Accessibility to our data
