Keystone of our ETL strategy
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to run new connectors quickly to create proofs of concept and the ability to pick and choose which fields to include in each model, so as the control you have to add or remove fields and objects really makes it easy to control.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some small subset of connectors seem unstable at times, so real-time data can be affected, in some cases the connectors and fields require some external calculation or validation this makes it confusing if you run multiple systems at the time (Make sure to document everything)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are running a ETL strategy in which we use Fivetran to extract data from our sources into our Warehouse to be re-calculated and transformed for both integration use and direct business reporting, this has given us more granular control on when and which data is extracted

Very useful upload / syncing tool
What do you like best about the product?
Relatively fast and easy to use. It hasn't crashed or froze so far.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface could require jumping around a bit. Specifically, I'd like to be able to upload one sheet after another (instead of going back to homepage and then clicking into the upload screen again)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A quick way to get a CSV file into SQL. Or continuous sync between google sheet to SQL.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You save a lot of time in uploading data.
Good but could do better
What do you like best about the product?
Quick and easy to setup a connection and get data into your landing area.
What do you dislike about the product?
Technical support isn't always great unless you really push them. I've requested new connectors a few times and they have been unresponsive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting data into our warehouse staging area fast. Not having to worry about writing our own APIs.
Feature addition and flexibility
What do you like best about the product?
There is a vast array of connectors that allows extracting data from numerous sources
What do you dislike about the product?
There are connector features that don't make sense if you think about it from a development perspective, especially like the new Google Drive Beta which creates 1 table per each file and SFTP not supporting PGP
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Some of our data require PGP decryption or another encryption system; we would like this feature available
Awesome product!
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use, quick setup and intuitive user interface
What do you dislike about the product?
More robust update schedules, setting up exact time of refresh and not tied to 15-minute increments. Also, the ability to extract pre-populated reports from systems, not being limited to entire objects
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ease of connecting disparate data sources into one consolidated enterprise data warehouse, quickly and efficiently
Fivetran helps speed up building your business
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of creating a connector and the sense of smooth connection you get.
What do you dislike about the product?
More insights into the workflow would be nice. Somehow the flow still feels more like a BlackBox. A very good and accurate one indeed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Fivetran to help us connect to various sources of data so we can get the data quickly and do the follow-up processing on top of it. It's just quick and accurate.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you would like a quick way to connect to over 150+ sources from all different realms of areas. Consider Fivetran!
Quick and easy way to connect complex systems to your data warehouse
What do you like best about the product?
It is effortless to connect new applications to destinations, on average like ten clicks. The interface is simple enough to navigate and reasonably non-technical. Once set up, you do not need to come back to it. All in all, a very robust and reliable flow to your data warehouse.
What do you dislike about the product?
Support could be a little bit better. Also, for more advanced users, it would be nice to more detailed logging and more granular access control. Finally, many monitoring features are only available in the UI at the account admin level, which creates a management bottleneck sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Effortless consolidation of business application data in data warehouse.
Reliable team and technology
What do you like best about the product?
The account teams are fantastic. They listen, are transparent, and genuinely want to help you succeed. Whether it's brainstorming with their product team to identify ways they can improve or giving feedback on beta releases, their team always takes time to listen and incorporate customer feedback.
What do you dislike about the product?
MAR has been a pain point for a while. We are not sure how to translate between rows to MAR to credits to dollars.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We do not need an engineering team building marketing data pipelines. The team is now free to transform and leverage the data vs fixing pipelines.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at the pricing model for the future state to ensure you don't need to migrate to a larger platform.
The World's Best Data Engineer At The Click Of A Button
What do you like best about the product?
It's the world's best data engineer at a fraction of the cost. There's less maintenance, the architecture is managed for you, and the company is filled with thoughtful people constantly improving the product for users. It's the pipework that makes the modern data stack possible.
What do you dislike about the product?
Certain sources really drive up costs with the Monthly-Active-Row-based pricing model. Don't let this discourage you from using Fivetran but know what kind of sources you're planning on ingesting. Unless it's some event-based system that produces hundreds of millions of events a month, Fivetran is the best tool on the market. If it IS event-based and produces hundreds of millions or billions of rows in a single month, there are probably alternatives that might fit that use case better.
But in bang for the buck and breadth of connectors, there isn't a better tool available.
But in bang for the buck and breadth of connectors, there isn't a better tool available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've connected all of our relevant data sources to our data warehouse, where we can model that data with dbt and consume it in our BI tool of choice. It cuts down the resources required for data engineering so that a team can overhaul data infrastructure.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Reach out to the team and ask about your use case. Figure out what sources you're using and what the monthly cost would be, and then consider the cost of a data engineer to maintain in-house solutions to do the same thing.
Easy to use...very convenient and straightforward
What do you like best about the product?
simply UI for setting up the connectors
What do you dislike about the product?
The logs aren't very easy to check if there is any failure. It can be a little more organized
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gathering data from multiple platforms
