Easy to use once setup, good customer service

What do you like best about the product?
The low cost of use and setup has been very helpful and almost a necessity during the challenging budgetary time of the COVID-19 pandemic. We use Vonage as our voice provider with the 3CX cloud pbx and pay far less than we would for traditional phone lines with multiple extensions
What do you dislike about the product?
My only complaint thus far once we were setup was that it was a somewhat tedious process to get auto-reload for payments turned on for our account. That seemed like it should be a default setting and it took a multiple email interaction with customer service to achieve. The phone service just stopped working for us when we got too low on funds because we didn't monitor our balance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Low cost of VOIP has been easily the largest benefit for us.

Just Migrated to Vonage/Nexmo - Could not be more happier

What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is clean and easy to navigate, there are heaps of documentation that you can use to create your application and then, use their API. Sandbox testing is great!! Also, I have used their support desk and the responses have been fast and helpful. Analytics are also great. Troubleshooting is easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see them provide a billing interface in USD so you know exactly what you are paying. At the moment it is in Euro
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
International SMS delivery. I can order numbers from any country with a few clicks and be up and running easily. Having numbers in my target country vastly improve deliverability.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely use them. Heaps of documentation and competitive pricing. API is easy to use

Flexible communications platform

What do you like best about the product?
The incredible amount of flexibility the platform offers and how reliable it is. The pricing for the conversation API is also better than every competitor I scouted.
What do you dislike about the product?
There was a pretty steep learning curve and some documentation was spread out over multiple sources, so it was a little messy to get started with. You might need to spend a good amount of time on getting familiar with the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We created a chat functionality for users on our platform and couldn't have done it at that price and effort in any other way. Competitors were really expensive and missing some of the flexibility that Vonage offered. Being a bootstrapped founder, this was the ideal solution.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are a few really helpful guides (not the API documentation), that go through setting up different kinds of services based on the Vonage APIs. They were really helpful in getting a feeling for what can be achieved using them. Take a look at them if you're unsure if Vonage offers an API suitable for your use case.

Great Functionalities at the right cost

What do you like best about the product?
What I like the most about Vonage is that you have access to all the functionalities they offer at once. My initial project required only integration with the SMS functionalities but after having a look at all the available features I was able to expand the initial idea into a winning project.
I like very much the example available to integrate with the APIs that can be easily implemented in my code without much change.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much. The dashboard is really useful and the API are easy to integrate.
It is a little disappointing when disruptions are reported in the dashboard and I am not able to take any mitigating action to minimise the loss of interaction from my customers.
It would be helpful to be able to require that the logs of the sent sms/messages are not logged to avoid to incur in issues with gdpr.
One minor issue I found during my first days of use was the difficulty to obtain a fully open account that would allow me to preload my balance with an amount that would permit my experiment to run without interruptions.
A small thing I disliked was the cost of sending sms to some countries in the middle east , where the cost per sms was a bit expensive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to interact with the participants of my surveys in an easy way while being able to monitor the cost of my project.
I was able to identify additional services I can implement to enrich my customers experience and interact with them in a different scenario that was not even considered at first. We are now considering to include voice functionalities inside our experiments and interact in real time with the participants of our surveys
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would advice anyone who is looking to a platform that can extend the communication capability of a software to integrate with Vonage. It is very easy to integrate and offers a number of alternatives and additional services that can push your own software even further

What do you like best about the product?

We can sometimes find it hard to get a solution through the community, and some terminology is left unexplained.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sending SMS to 100s of customers on a high frequency. The benefit over other providers were the speed and costs.

Great communication service

What do you like best about the product?
The APIs are very clear and well documented. To integrate features like Whatsapp our tech team did not find any issues. The support team has always helped replying fast to all questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is still some confusion caused by the different brands and different products of the brands (Nexmo, Tokbox, Vonage...). I think it should be done a unification process to bring everything under Vonage naming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I integrated Vonage APIs in order to have communication services in a web application. We integrated Whatsapp sending, in-app calls to PSTN and SMS sending.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The product is very wide and complete, you will find everything you need and a very good support team which will help you to find the most suitable features of the product for you and your company.

A great communication solution

What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Nexmo for a long time. It never failed on us. The API is well made and documented. Dashboard is self explanatory and easy to use. We are especially happy with the stability of this service. When Nexmo changed to Vonage we were afraid that everything will change, but it did not and it continued working perfectly
What do you dislike about the product?
Support could be better. We have asked Nexmo support a couple of times if we could use a an existing phone number as a senders phone number trough Nexmo. They told us no. But then we tried either way and it worked

Using Nexmo we allow our customers contact their customers

A solid alternative to Twilio

What do you like best about the product?
All the functionalities that our business needs are supported very well, SMS delivery, phone numbers in various countries, detailed logs of activities. Pricing is very competitive compared to competitors. For those countries that have more censorship to SMS delivery, Nexmo has a good program to improve deliverability. The SDK is robust and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing is in Euro rather than my local USD.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had been using Twilio to deliver SMS with one time passwords and verification codes. We are happy to add Nexmo to our system so we can smartly blend 2 providers for the best deliverability based on content, recipient carriers, and regions.

What do you like best about the product?
We use and like the SMS API, which could be implemented very easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
It took us quite a long time to get rid of the account limitations, we had to wait 'till they've been removed completely.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are delivering news and important informations to our organization members via SMS. Short messages are opened at a higher rate than newsletters or e-mails.

What do you like best about the product?
We really appreciate the ability to send international text messages and obtain international numbers. We have a pretty big client (who may be the name on the gift card you are giving out), that uses our service to send employee communication messages all around the world. The Nexmo tool makes it super easy to obtain text numbers and easily assign them to our account. We can be up and running in a new country in no time at all.
What do you dislike about the product?
It seems like the cost is a bit high when compared to our other providers.

An easy way for our customers to send text messages. Some benefits are:
