What do you like best about the product?
The confidence it gives me that my sensitive information will not be accidently made public.
What do you dislike about the product?
None that I've found yet. So far I'm very pleased with all the features I use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Preventing accidental disclosure of sensitive information such as credentials and licence keys.

GitGuardian helps keep my secrets safe in my open source project
What do you like best about the product?
I love how git guardian detects secrets in my open source projects even if I had removed the secret. It checks old commits to detect exposed secrets
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I get false-possitives, e.g some public client keys get detected as a secret
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GitGuardian helps keep my applications secure by monintoring and alerting whenever I expose a secret in the source code.
Amazing tool to generate pull request analysis preventing unintentionally sharing secrets
What do you like best about the product?
I use GitGuardian on my open-source projects and this is an amazing tool that can prevent me or anybody else from sharing secrets (most of the time, unintentionally). It integrates with the pipeline and the workflow nicely, and adds comments to the pull request if finds any problems.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't experienced anything negative from this tool yet. Since I use the free tier, it provides me with everything that I expected. I only have good thoughts about this tool!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It prevents me from sharing unintentionally secrets when I push code to my repositories. With this tool, also running in my local machine, I can even prevent to push the secrets to the coding hosting provider.
Very useful and a true must have
What do you like best about the product?
Gitguardian helps me prevent critical security issues. Me and my team can be notified via email or Discord if a git commit contains sensitive information or other security issues. The dashboard contains all relevant information and tools to resolve the incident.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first I was a bit overwhelmed by the features of this tool. Some buttons did not meet my expectations. For example, the "Resolve" button simply closes the incident. It might sound like the problem can be fixed automatically in the code.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security issus can be always include in code. GitGuardian helps me with spooting the issue and resolve it as fast and efficient as possible. The issue is also documented.

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that it didn't let me deploy to production because I was about to share my ChatGPT api credentials.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is just a suggestion: Maybe they could prevent the weaknesses in the dev environment (using a cli or script) so issues won't get to the repository at the first place.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my busy day to day coding tasks, sometimes I overlook the security measures. It is good to have a piece of tech watch over them and prevent disasters e before they happen.
Literally a guadian angel
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to detect leaked keys, secrets etc. is massive for me. GitGuardian can detect leaked keys and secrets even when you have commits overwriting the leaked secret but don't remove them from the git history. This can be a huge security help that protects you from malicious actors, constantly crawling the web for these kinds of information.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, the software is really good at what it does (finding secrets) and I have no reservations about the tech. that are a bother for me;
1. I hate email notifications because they clog up my inbox and get in the way of important messages - although, you could argue that a critical security leak is an important issue. I would prefer temporary notifications like push notifications on mobile etc.
2. I live in Nigeria so the pricing is a bit on the high side. Maybe a bit of location-based discount would do the trick? I understand this might be difficult since the majority of the tech cost on their end is not location-dependent.

GitGuardian has served as a reliable security partner in the sense that it protects us from small human errors that could be costly, especially for a code base that has numerous contributors of varying skill level, experience and temperament.

Advises me when I accidantally include sensitive information (usually an unpaid API key) in code pushed to GitHub.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't noticed any disadvantages to GitGuardian.

I have only used GitGuardian to warn me of API keys included in code.

Of similar items, only some picked up. But, the code owner is responsible; if one is pointed out, they should know the similar items.

CI/CD This is a beautiful that helps me to develop and test and good security for my repository in the git hub that help to get the security errors and fix them.

the GitGuardian have a lot of services and that are helpful for all developer but I know about it in an accident that shude be depressed should be all developers hear about it.
