I am surprised
What do you like best about the product?
It s appreciated for its automated and proactive approach to identifying sensitive information in code repositories, enabling early detection and prevention of data leaks. Its customizable policies, seamless integration with development workflows, and ability to reduce manual security checks save time and resources for developers while enhancing overall security. By utilizing machine learning, GitGuardian continually improves its detection capabilities, making it a valuable tool in maintaining compliance, safeguarding against breaches, and promoting secure coding practices.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not encountered any major drawbacks or issues with GitGuardian; its functionalities seem well-rounded.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It addresses the problem of inadvertent exposure of sensitive information in code repositories, which can lead to data leaks, security breaches, and compliance violations. By automatically scanning code for sensitive data like API keys, passwords, and tokens, GitGuardian prevents these vulnerabilities from being introduced into the codebase and alerts developers to potential risks. This benefits developers and organizations by saving time and resources that would otherwise be spent on manual security checks. It enhances overall security posture by proactively identifying vulnerabilities, mitigating the risk of data breaches, and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.

This feature should be integrated into GitHub.
What do you like best about the product?
Being new to software, keeping secret keys and other vulnerable information safe is not something I have fully learned yet. GitGaurdian has been very helpful in informing me when I accidentally expose these.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not ran into an issue with GitGuardian yet. I think it has done its job perfectly well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As stated before I have been using it to remind me when I have secret keys and data showing in my projects stored on github and deployed apps.
The best security feature ever!
What do you like best about the product?
It works even when you are not signed up to it. GitGuardian let me know of a risk and made it go away through its automation which saved my time and let me know.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of information on the dashboard, its hard for me as a new user to get it all. All are useful though, I just need to spend more time on it and learn it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can be sure when I upload code to public platform like github, GitGuardian will let me konw about the security vulnerabilities on human side, which can easily happen after a hard day of coding and trying to push something fast.
Excellent
What do you like best about the product?

GitGuardian review
What do you like best about the product?
Pretty efficient in detecting possible password leaks on GitHub commits.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far I haven't faced any problems that would fit in "dislike" about GitGuardian
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am really inattentive when commiting my codes, so GitGuardian always notify when there is a password leak, mainly in databases connections
GitGuardian very useful in preventing security breaches
What do you like best about the product?
GitGuardian in real-time monitors my commits and detected security breaches. It identifies secrets across entire commit histories.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it reports false positives, i.e., alerts for developer public keys (Google Captcha).
Unfortunately, it only monitors and notifies about the incident and it can't prevent it.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GitGuardian is very useful in preventing security breaches. By monitoring code in real-time, GitGuardian instantly alerts me if I accidentally pushed sensitive information.
It has integrations with GitHub and Azure DevOps, that I use to store code.

What do you like best about the product?
The promtness that the git guardian is when its connected to github
What do you dislike about the product?
Not dislike however, but the UI seems to be really unintuitive and wasnt really able to navigate around. Interested in more paid reviews :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The secrets are promptly cautioned and alerted immediately
Lifesaver
What do you like best about the product?
Within just a few minutes or sometimes even seconds of pushing private information (API keys) to Github, I'm alerted about the vulnerability and can fix it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like it if they had a feature to automatically clear out the private information from the repo and its history.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security vulnerabilities on Github
Great tool with a few minor issues
What do you like best about the product?
It's pretty good at finding stored credentials and searches git history, unlike other tools. Excited to try honeytokens. I like that it groups the same credentials found across different repos and files as one incident.
What do you dislike about the product?
It glitches out when frequently when switching between different instances of the same secret finding ("Something went wrong", a page refresh fixes.)
It doesn't properly find the right credential pairs in .env files frequently enough to be annoying.
I would like to be able to fix the above manually, and also be able to combine and separate findings into separate incidents if I please. I've encountered a couple instances where this would be helpful to us.
