Firebase friendly!
What do you like best about the product?
The documentation made my business rapidly build out functionality
What do you dislike about the product?
the Support if you weren’t on a paid plan wasn’t super helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Full text search (Firebase doesn’t support this - Algolia solution worked wonders)

Algolia is my go to search platform
What do you like best about the product?
I like the amount of simple integration allowing me to worry about my application logic without needing to worry about how to integrate complex search. We used an integration with Laravel that was backed by Algolia making a lot of the implementation simple and seamless. We went this route multiple times to build different types of solutions for multiple customers.
We did a lot of work with Laravel and it being somewhat first-class supported and Algolia seems to care about making it work well with our framework made it really a perfect fit.

What do you dislike about the product?
I can get lost a little in the UI especially when switching indexes. With search being a complex type of use case it may just be how it is. I find the helpful documentation and integrations make up for the issues I find in the Algolia UI
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used it to do multiple types of searches. Such as a simple document search, filtered searches, keyword searches across many complex models/content types. In all cases, it has been fairly easy to use with great documentation to help me along. We could've done a lot of work in the database to get the same result but it was nice to offload some of this work so we do not have to worry about scaling the search as time goes one. I much rather have someone who knows what they are doing handle that part instead of having to handle that on my own
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the provided integrations from Algolia if possible. It makes life a lot easier even though they have a well-documented API if needed.
Easy to Use and Powerful
What do you like best about the product?
Usually something easy isn't that powerful but Algolia is great at it. We use Algolia manually as a replacement for Zendesk help center search which is extremely limited in functionality.
Through their YouTube channel and help docs I was able to get up and running without having to talk to their support team at all.
It's also a nice modern interface. Search usually isn't that way and it's very technical. You can tell Algolia spent a lot of time making the front-end as user friendly as possible while still being able to dive deep into technical aspects.
Pricing is great too for what you get.

What do you dislike about the product?
The shortest interval for extracting articles from Zendesk is 6 hours, which is fine, but when you are in go mode making a ton of changes, it sucks to have to wait. Overall though that is extremely minor and I can't think of anything else to dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've completely replaced Zendesk help center search with the speedy algolia and have been able to use common industry term replacements to ensure articles are served correctly in case someone searches a less common industry term.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I can only speak to the Zendesk integration which is a massive improvement over traditional Zendesk support. It's so easy to test though so one might as well try it out. Search isn't always something you think there is a solution for, but in the case of Algolia they do a great job of making search work how it should.
Fast, easy to implement and very performant
What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to setup a project and customize it to match the needs of the app
What do you dislike about the product?
It may be a bit pricy for personal applications
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Autocompletion feature is one of the main problems that Algolia solves.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Perfect for a full out of the box search system. Comes with lots of documentation on different setups.
The implementation on Laravel is especially really easy. if you follow the step-by-step guides it's not difficult at all to set it up for the first time.
Especially the Dashboard is made of really user friendly components and charts. It's easy to navigate and all the statistics are showed very clearly, as well as real-time updated.
Working with, and configuring the indices was also really easy - however I would recommend checking the guidelines before. Relevance Optimizations and, Typo-tolerance, Language, Synonyms, Stop Words, Segmentation and Decompounding, Special characters, Exact matching, Word proximity, Filtering and Faceting, Facets, Pagination and Display, Pagination may be a bit difficult to start with, but however provide some really powerful oppotunities of usage.
To access the advanced analytics, however you can only do it if upgrading your plan - from community plan they are not included. Speaking to analytics you also miss the Overview, Searches, No Results, Filters, Geo features since they can only be accesed from the other upgraded plans.
Monitoring is especially powerful and free for the Community plan.
One feature that I would've liked is makeing the overview tab more customable.

Algolia for hosted search, ease of implementation, and awesome CX!
What do you like best about the product?
We were comparing Search options for both our new website and our web based application focused on the families we serve. We explored options such as Elastic which provided a robust suite of tools. However, in the end we decided on Algolia for its hosted search, ease of implementation, and UX. It allows us to focus on our data and not have to worry about maintaining the Search experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Thus far in our implementation, we haven't had any complaints! Algolia provides with pretty much everything we need. It's almost like Stripe for Search!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to minimize the amount of time integrating this critical function of our web assets. We're able to focus on our data rather than maintaining the Search engine.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't hesitate, just do it!
Excellent service and complete solution
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to implement. Created a search index for my Firestore database to introduce search in my Flutter app and had no problems whatsoever. Implementation (creation of the index, database export, database synchronisation and client implementation) took me less than half a day and it allowed me to introduce search with fast results in my product catalog.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing at all. The solution Algolia provides was the complete package in my use case.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was using a Firestore database for a product catalog and wanted to allow my users to search for products.
Easy and fast APIs
What do you like best about the product?
I worked on an iOS project with Algolia. It fetches the results super fast. Query settings are a bit tricky but once you figure out, it's super useful and customizable.
What do you dislike about the product?
The way to set up differs version to version, so it sometimes unknowingly breaks if you blindly update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quickly search the DB with relatively straight settings. Refreshing as you type kind of thing is neat.
Super awesome and simple search for documentation
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it was to integrate into our companies documentation site. Also being able to see the most searched works and which search results don't land any results is very helpful for updating our documentation site in the future.
What do you dislike about the product?
It did take longer than expected to receive the API key, but when we finally did, we were really happy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
None, everything is running great so far.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just do it, Algolia makes search easy and analytical
A great product, easy to integrate, powerful to use
What do you like best about the product?
The easy of integration and the speed of getting the responses. The documentation is also great.
I have added a search feature to my personal blog, which is based on Jekyll. There is a Jekyll package that does all the heavy lifting, and for the parts to customize there is plenty of documentation.
From the creation of the account to be up and running it took me less than one hour.

What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing in particular. Everything was smooth and clean. I can't really say that there are downsides.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I wanted to add a search feature to my personal blog. I managed to do that in less than one hour, including the time necessary to create the account.
One of the best parts of the Jekyll SDK I have used is that it automatically indexes all the posts in the blog, so I don't have to add anything. It integrated wonderfully with github, so it was really zero effort (and zero cost!) to have it up and running.

Just give a try. It is very easy to use and it is clear that Algolia team took a lot of effort to deliver a great experience.
One of the blazing fast Search Provider Platform
What do you like best about the product?
The speed at which a search operation executes, along with all the linked aspects that broadens the concept of universal unified search in order to provide great User Experience! The product's landing page is one of the best I have seen to date since it clearly explains the search powers when clicked on the search bar on the homepage to get on the demo search portal in order to get hands-on experience with it. Simply put, Algolia is one of the best search experience providers that totally builds on and aims to provides one of the best user experiences out there when it come to search platforms/ tools or APIs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I guess they should also have a WordPress plugin since WP is one of the most widely used CMS platforms. Adding a plugin to Wordpress library will help Algolia and most global users to expand the search experience using Algolia for any one's platform/ website or their product. Also, the product should provide an in-built search bar generator tool that can then be embedded on to any website at any section of the page which will be very helpful for non-coder or new users who aren't very friendly with the development environment. WYSIWYG editor or search bar generator and styling tool can help a lot in integrating to small scale static websites.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Personalized search experiences that converts, and provides unique experiences to drive engagement.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A fantastic search experience everyone must try at least once.
