Needed a search fro static Jekyll site
What do you like best about the product?
Algolia is easy to set up and customize for your individual needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I was a little disappointed that they are no longer supporting the Jekyll plugin.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was able to build a search that displays results from our marketing site, blog, and documentation site.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Bring back the Jekyll plugin!

There are endless possibilities of integrations, there are no limits with Algolia for integration.
What do you like best about the product?
Java, JavaScript, Ktlin and Zendesk are just some of the solutions with which I have an excellent integration with Algolia, there are many more integration options that I am currently working with and I can continue adding many more integrations without problems, I just need to send a message to the support of Algolia and they kindly provide me with the tools to integrate them. By requesting support help I can complete the most complex tasks in just a few minutes or depending on the complexity of the integration in a few hours.
What do you dislike about the product?
They must add many more customization features and they must modernize their platform, sometimes I dislike their outdated look.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The positive since we started using Algolia in the company are summarized in two things, the search patterns and the customer experience. It is very simple when the client is satisfied, all the members of my team are also satisfied, Algolia allows us to improve and automate our search engine in a few days.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The configurations of integrations can be a bit complex if you do not have the necessary experience, for this reason I recommend you to configure the integrations with the help of Algolia support so that you can achieve the work in a relatively short time, I have to repeat it, not make your own, ask for help. Algolia allows you to improve and having algolia is what I love most.
Get 100% involved with the details and functions of Algolia ... try it.
What do you like best about the product?
The variety of details that allow me to configure the search filter amazes me. The documentation is extensive and precise at the same time, it has very relevant details such as those of the configuration that help me to have a better search system. Algolia is what I was looking for, I can reach my goals in just a few months after implementing it, we are in constant communication with the technical service and I can say that they respond in a short time and with solutions, this is fantastic.
What do you dislike about the product?
My doubts with Algolia were due to the price, I had a negative opinion regarding the price and with the short free trial of only 14 days. The 14-day test is too short to determine the most relevant functions with a lot of criteria, we take many risks and this is a disadvantage. Although I think we made a good decision, it is necessary that the free trial be much longer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have solved the lack of interest of users in our company by implementing this advanced search system, they are much more involved with the company and this increases revenue, it is the main thing. Algolia adds faster and faster functions, this is fantastic for companies that wish to continue updating their platforms.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You will have many doubts with the 14-day test, of course it is very short, for this reason you should read the documentation and be always constant communication with the support so that they solve all the difficulties that are within your reach, it will not to be an easy path, but in the same way you have to travel to be able to implement this innovative solution to advanced search problems.
Our clients use it and find what they are looking for because everything is centralized.

I like that it is very easy to use and add information, in addition the platform is very intuitive and the searches are very fast. The technical support service responds to us very quickly and resolves problems immediately, the truth is very responsible.

Algolia developers thought of everything, because so far we have not seen errors. They may exist, but we are very happy with this software and we would like it to continue that way.

I love that we are better known every day, because our reputation increases as we enter new products and our customers find their specifications without many complications, because the search engine is very fast and the interface builds confidence, I think it is perfectly made for the user .

If you have doubts, you should only use the free trial version and the doubts will dissipate, because the integration of our products with our clientele is excellent and I can assure you that after using it, you will want to buy a full service package.

Up and running with advanced search capabilities in minutes. Hook up your data model, plug in the JavaScript widget and your users get a great search experience. It is very fast from anywhere in the world and the flexible customisation features allow for advanced and nearly bespoke search solutions. You should try Algolia before you try to build your own search.

Not much. Some of the terminology used when you get into customising the experience can take awhile to make sense.

The developer tools and easy integration w Heroku allowed us the ability to launch quickly.

The initial testing plans were I believe a little pricey but I believe they have new plans now that accommodate for this.

Searching through ecommerce products can be intense and finding the best related product helps us generate revenue quickly.

Simply put, it saved us a heap of development time and budget. We could focus on other components knowing the search was sorted.

Customizing it to run some api operations requires some skills; still working out how we can do that better.

What do you dislike about the product?
It requires some thought and/or additional dev work to work around how the pricing model is defined in operations (i.e. when we need to refresh the index data).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Algolia makes it dead-simple, quick and fun for our users to perform the mundane task of searching across the hundreds of thousands of athletes so that they can then get to the juicy part of checking out their race-performance analytics!

What do you like best about the product?
Performance! It's where Algolia shines, they can deliver p99 < 10ms response times, the search experience feels instant, making a huge difference for our customers.
They have many available SDKs for all sorts of clients which makes it very easy to integrate with web and mobile apps.
Another great feature is the geo-replication where you can deploy your data to more datacenters and make the search faster all over the world, be aware that this cost extra though.

What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing. For an early stage and growing startup it can be challenging to pay their price. We have to constantly purge old records and optimize our systems to decrease the number of operations which causes some extra development overhead for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using Algolia to power all of our search: from sports events calendar to digital asset management. With Algolia our customers can have a centralized view of their assets and it becomes searchable instantly, streamlining their content distribution.
Powerful, simple to setup, and lightning fast
What do you like best about the product?
I have used various search systems including Sphinx, Solr, direct DB integrations etc. but nothing has been as robust and performant as Algolia. It just works very well.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this time we have nothing to critique as it's perfect for our needs.

A portion of our infrastructure was used for search which we were able to swap out with Algolia.
