Easy and Effective Network Monitoring Solution
What do you like best about the product?
A few of the best things for me are: Easy Management of IP and subnets list, colour usage for warning level, minimizing IP conflicts and management of DNS and DHCP for tracking the network activities
What do you dislike about the product?
I have experienced latency quite a few times and takes a fraction of time to view new changes. moreover, it comes with expensive pricing,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly for IP conflicts and subnet management and allocation in our local network. the alerts have helped me tremendously with monitoring any DHCP scopes and keeping track of IPs hence minimising any efforts for maintaining the periodic documentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend it for the initial management of a small company.

What do you like best about the product?
Network Traffic Analyser, Network Latency graph, Monitoring alerts when the device is down, Performance analysis, Netpath Service,reporting etc. these are the best practices of solar winds server

What do you dislike about the product?
The map editor select rectangle needs to be improved on as when you drag it it can get out of control.
Need a more intuitive way to configure interfaces between nodes in map editor.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
NetPath services in solar winds helped us to resolve the issue when network traffic occurs as well as this netpath service will support when I am trying to explain to ISPs, etc. about where traffic is congested or stopping.
In our organization, we need information such as how much data is transferred/sec, data latency, total transactions time in a given period. Because of such environments and timelines sometimes we have a very extreme volume transferred between clustered nodes in data centers and the total number of logins increases in certain working hours. We need to track it down and generate custom reports to enhance productivity by solar winds

Great for monitoring a large number of websites and locating the issue
What do you like best about the product?
Pingdom is great for notifying when a website goes down, and allowing analysts to start looking into the issue within milliseconds of the site losing connectivity. It also has a lot of helpful tools to help diagnose problems with websites.
What do you dislike about the product?
Due to the way that it monitors by pinging your website from other countries, if there is an internet outage from the ping location to your server it will cause false alerts, and sometimes it can make it harder to get a bead on the problem..
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows us to monitor indiviual websites hosted on servers rather than monitoring the entire server, is a nice supplement to IIS monitoring in SCOM.
Best validation tool to identified the site down time
What do you like best about the product?
One of the best tools for website monitoring. Domin hits with different regions and polling intervals will be optional. We can able to identify the issue with the root cause. Scripting and test case options are available
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes down alert getting one of the North America regions and also bit gap for issue related support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It really identified the site zero downtime and was able to add the product related URL's

It's really using for business perspective.

Solar wind provide every interface link information we can check with all details , it's also an important for all live projects we can manage with this montering tool

To say about down sides of solar wind I have not much experience on this tool

Managing and maintaining lists if ip where they are being used

Sometimes few info can be wrong and detection of DHCP server takes time few instances.

All the headache of making sheet of ipa nd ip subnet where being used is not anymore after implementation of ip amanger
It is very nice for mange IP address for a Network Administrator.

Currently in our organization we are using Solarwinds since last 2 years and it's very easy to understand and very good monitoring tool.

I think there is nothing to dislike in Solarwinds.

We used to fetch reports for high link utilisation and it was very tidious job with inMon. All of us frustrated. Solarwinds mak us life so easy. Its very easy to fetch all kind of reports from Solarwinds.
My view on SolarWinds IPAM
What do you like best about the product?
Simplified work process by integrating DHCP and DNS with IP Address Management.
No need for training on DHCP and DNS software.

Sometimes it gets complex to move around the GUI of the IPAM.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
First and foremost is no need to maintain reports or documents for the IP addresses assigned or leased.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for simplified management of IP addresses then you can go for it.
It was very helpful for monitoring and managing your network.

I think Deep Packet Inspection and Analysis is the most important feature.

I think the Dashboard is a little bit crowded and in the first view is confusing but everybody will get used to it very soon.
