Robust messaging software

  • April 02, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This robust messaging software gives 100 percent high availability and dependability on it. I completely trust this IBM MQ and we never have to bounce the queue managers. I work as admin for this software and installation and maintenance is very easy
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost associated with IBM products is always a concern. IBM has to revise the cost in this competitive world.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using the software to transfer messages between different applications that belong to client and us. The client sends messages from all frontend applications and our application from backend take the messages to process them

As such no bad impression. I think it is best mq product available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Used it in my previous organisation for exchanging customer data between integrated systems. Our product was used to put an order basically, integrated systems send some kind of verification data across the systems. for exchange of this data we used IBM MQ.

Stable message queuing system

  • September 12, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
MQ and message queuing is not the most sexy of applications. Few will have a need for it, but when you do, you'll realise how critical this can be. If you build a system that needs to support hundreds/thousands of transactions per hour, the biggest worry is to lose one. If your servers can't process these transactions fast enough, this is bound to happen. This is where MQ fits in. Instead of directly processing your transactions, you store it in MQ instead, and have your processing engine read from the queue instead. This not only prevents losing transactions, it also removes the need to always throw more cpu to handle extra transaction loads, by being able to process them asynchronously, you can continue to process transactions at a constant rate. Also, if any piece of software crashes/fails, you can feel secure in knowing you arenot losing anything while you remedy the problem.
What do you dislike about the product?
MQ is not a simple system to figure out, proper installation and configuration can take some time, especially if you don't have any experience. But I wouldn't let that scare you away, the benefits far outweigh the cost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use this for all our Sap integration, and is central to running our business. We have multiple ordering platforms (web,EDI, Siebel, fax), that all need to exchange information with Sap.. As an example, a sales order comes in and is saved to a queue. A middleware will pick up the order from the queue, do some data manipulation and send the order to sap. Sap will send an order confirmation to the queue which the middleware will pick up and send to the ordering platform. The order is also sent to the warehouse for processing, and delivery details are sent to the ordering platform via MQ again. This process goes on for all steps of the sales order proces.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need to run an integrated transactional system, this tool needs to be part of your solution. Your systems might be working today as is, but the day your systems won't be able to handle the volume, you'll kick your self fonot doing so. Spare yourself the headaches and include MQ in your architecture.

IBM MQ

  • August 04, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's highly configurable and customizable according to our need. Enables us to construct time-independent architecture and also enables independent and potentially non-concurrent applications on a heterogeneous system to communicate with one other.
What do you dislike about the product?
As of no dislike, but big data with MQ use case samples are not so exhaustive to think for future
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Independent of interfacing application availability, scalable, highly available, and allows workload balancing mechanism
