One of the Best AI Analytics Tools Out There!
What do you like best about the product?
I use many different analytics tools in my work (Einstein Analytics, Google Data Studio, Tableau, etc.) but IBM has got to be one of the best when it comes to ease of use for both it's admins and it's end-users (viewers only)
What do you dislike about the product?
A little pricey, which is pretty standard I suppose for not just a robust analytics solution, but for a well-known company like IBM. But not as expensive as other platforms I mentioned. I also reallllllllllly wish there were more data source integrations supported.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used IBM Watson for both sales ROI planning and analysis as well as helping us more intuitively scope out and manage our software stacks by utilizing the software selection guide.
Using Planning Analytics to add efficiencies and flexibility to budgeting and planning
What do you like best about the product?
Planning Analytics' user-friendly interface, robust integration with Excel, and up-to-date web interface (Planning Analytics Workspace) have added many efficiencies to our budgeting and planning process.
It has allowed us to standardized and improve the budgeting process, and has provided enhanced analytic capabilities. It also provides strong Excel interface capabilities for ad hoc analysis.
A strength of Planning Analtyics is it's flexibility in allowing us to easily adapt our planning process to changing business conditions.

What do you dislike about the product?
No strong dislikes. It is a bit of a learning curve to learn "rules" development, but that is easily overcome by training and experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Planning Analytics has allowed us to provide a robust and flexible platform for budgeting, modeling, and planning.
It's allowed us to streamline and make more efficient previously more manual processes
It also allows us to make reports and input templates available in a more "self-service" manner via Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW). The PAW platform has been very well received by our user community and we look forward to continued enhancements to PAW.

Top of the Line Product for all your XP&A Needs
What do you like best about the product?
PA can be used for way more than just your basic financial budgeting....it really can help throughout your organization
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a bit more "technical" to learn than some other tools on the market, but it is more powerful and more scalable, so it is a fair trade-off.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping to forecast the number of units that we keep in inventory, that we need to ship (to stay in stock) and that we need to manufacture on a weekly basis. This was all previously done in Excel, and was very manual, it is now very automated in PA, and our confidence in our numbers is dramatically higher.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do a phased approach...don't try to boil the ocean
IBM Planning Analytics Insight
What do you like best about the product?
What I like the most is the real time calculations. It makes Excel a super tool as you now can have very large amounts of data (compared to pivot function in Excel) - I like the cloud version of this product; makes global deployment extremely easy - The analytical part that this product offers should not be underestimated. Because it has such powerful Excel add-in; what we use Planning Analytics for is to bring data from different sources into cubes (e.g. sales volume data, service level data, logistics performance data, customer data and financial data) and the true value creation is when you combine these data from different sources in your analysis (e.g. link average lease periods from operations data to financial revenue data by customer to determine true ROIC). This tool gives us the possibility to put data together and then play with data, which is not possible at this level with Excel pivot function. Other tools like Tableau, PowerBI etc are able to analyse but only on data that is loaded into it. Add hoc load-ins from different data-sources are not really possible; you always need IT to get data connections.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that the chart functions for web-based reports are basic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it for analyzing and displaying data and for also to collect ad-hoc data
Scalable, Sparcity, Flexible
What do you like best about the product?
I can do almost everything in PA. It's very optimized and scalable. It can handle TBs in-memory. And it does not
What do you dislike about the product?
The technical support is sometimes hard to communicate, sometimes they are rude.
Sometimes It's a pain to create Time dimension you need
The installation process (especially with Docker-based Workspace) is sometimes like "Find a mermaid's tear on dawn and so on"
No version control support. It's difficult to perform releases and to move development from one server to another
