What do you like best about the product?
Its helps in Monitoring the services of the team in an effective and efficient way.
What do you dislike about the product?
The call we get at night to monitor services in case of any issue, which sometimes turnout to be false alerts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Help to monitor services. And repeat alerts help in understanding the severity. Also I help save us from client escalations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Must try

What do you like best about the product?
Pagerduty is a reliable service that I've used at multiple different companies. They continue to innovate their product offerings and also host an annual conference where people can learn and network. Pagerduty also has a ton of integrations with other 3rd party services which makes it easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I cannot find any real negative issues with pagerduty. I guess an improvement would be to make it easier to set up PTO or time off where all your schedules and on call rotations are automatically updated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use pagerduty for monitoring all of our services. Pagerduty is incredibly versatile, and can be configured to meet everybody's needs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it

What do you like best about the product?
Helps us easily coalesce all of our production incident notifications! Allow us to create response schedules and maintain them
What do you dislike about the product?
A little bit lacking on the config side. Also ICS files are not standards compliant resulting in parsing difficulties for internal tooling. Difficult to construct intersecting schedules (e.g. different times on weekends vs weekdays)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Identifying and responding to production issues in real time

PagerDuty

  • May 20, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Allows quick access and great API for alerting
What do you dislike about the product?
Doesn't have great dashboards for representing stats from a management perspective looking for on-call burn out and things of that nature. We had to leverage the API to build our own dashboards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
On-call is much smoother now that we have implemented Pagerduty, it ensures our schedules and rotations as well as escalation paths are great
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Better reporting dashboards for managers

Automation of Automation

  • May 17, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to orchestrate automation from other platforms like Jenkins and locally using powershell or bash from an rbac controlled platform
What do you dislike about the product?
The free support is a bit hit and miss, and a convoluted sales process
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have several automation platforms on multiple clouds verticals and this provides a high level and rbac control with full audit.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a go

Great scheduling system

  • May 14, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Web interface is easy to use. It is great for scheduling jobs across multiple systems that you would normally put into cron. It has support for step functions, retries, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
While mostly web based, there is still some backend configurations that must happen. I would prefer to be able to easily add nodes through the web console. Setting up authentication can be tricky. Especially when getting more granular with the controls such as allowing certain users access to a project to view but not execute jobs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use rundeck as a replacement to cron jobs. We have many jobs (bash scripts, rake tasks, etc) that need to be ran periodically on short-lived AWS instances. Rundeck allows us to centralize this so that the job only runs on a single server in a cluster as well as centralizing the logging of these jobs.
