OutSystems - a fast and addictive development experience.

  • September 18, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
OutSystems positions itself as a no- or low- code rapid application development product, and it certainly delivers! Once you get used to the way in which the product shapes development, it becomes very quick to put a living breathing prototype in front of stakeholders, improving your development process by putting the user into the heart of the conversation.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a cloud solution, a good internet connection is imperative, although offline mobile apps using Android and IOS are possible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are transforming processes which are paper based or involve lots of manual steps to realise an increase in capacity for our workers, and reduce the overhead costs associated with those inefficiencies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The usual rules for Rapid Application Development apply - make sure that you have a clear vision of what you want first. But as a tool to help realise that vision, it is very effective.

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Outsytems makes it very easy to create new applications.
It is an easy to learn development tool. It provides a much faster development tool compared to traditional programming languages,

It offers multiple tools to start an application from scratch

It also provides tools to maintain your development environments.

What do you dislike about the product?
Publication times. Compared to other technologies, such as traditional programming environments like C# or Java, using Outsystems will take you a little longer to deploy and publish new versions of your applications.

Licensing can be very expensive, making it only accessible to large corporations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been working with Outsystems since 2010. I have used it mainly to work on Insurance business applications.

The most important benefit I realized is how fast we can deliver new applications or change them according to the new business requirements.
