Planning Analytics is the future
What do you like best about the product?
Functionality and intuitive interface is what I value most out of the application
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes we experience some latency within the system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The tool has allowed us to streamline our budgeting/planning process with the business.

Planning the Future
What do you like best about the product?
I have always enjoyed the customization aspect of TM1. As it has evolved into Planning Analytics, this has only become more improved. The self-service and ad-hoc capabilities of Planning Analytics Workspace bring the data to the end user in unique and exciting ways.
What do you dislike about the product?
IBM needs to do a better job of integrating Planning Analytics with Cognos Analytics. They have been slow on this front and they are hurting both brands because of it. At this point in being together under the IBM family, they should be completely seamless with one another and share best of both.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Planning Analytics is helping improve the business processes around Capital Project Planning. It helps with labor management, vendor management, and overall project management for all capital projects. The online interface allows for collaboration and moves the data out of independent spreadsheets.
Converting unusable data to state of the art business intelligence
What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility of product for various user input scenarios.
What do you dislike about the product?
Excel add-ins sometimes disengage for unknown reasons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Numerous disconnected divisions submit data via Excel files with no central data repository for querying and business intelligence reporting. When project complete, a dimentional database will exist for our reporting and analysis.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definately perform internal blueprinting before moving forward with implementation.

it helps you to plan as a very busy executive so nothing skips you. it enables you to look very professional as nothing skips you.
What do you dislike about the product?
my inability to do stuff by myself. i would have loved to be in control of the things i do and be able to plan without help.

What do you like best about the product?
- Ability to accommodate huge data sets -> Has been a great help to some of our bigger clients
What do you dislike about the product?
- Difficulty of software setup, especially with clients in the government & financial sector (firewalls, antivirus obstructions etc.)

Solving FOPM business needs for large organizations.

Not only for planning....!!! it can be used for more!!!!!!

This is a platform: A repository, business rules and a user interface. end-to-end capabilities to deliver solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Continuous improvements of the platform sends mixed messages with features and tools coming in and out as the versions evolve. i.e: Insigth, architect, pm, etc.
I understand the evolution process, however making sure all customers are aware of the product roadmap and potential risks/issues they will have to address as they embrace upgrades will help to set clear expectations and most likely make us all part of the PA family.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and development options.The security in the product was better than competitor products.
What do you dislike about the product?
Use can be cumbersome unless trained properly.

SInce we installed PA, our system startup time has increased dramatically.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Planning Analytics supports our business users' need to forecast at the contract / project level and also at the enterprise level.
Pleased with Planning Analytics
What do you like best about the product?
intuitive, mostly user-friendly, comprehensive, and customizable. Performance is great and I love live calculations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Disables some excel capabilities such as the hover over summation capability.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Forecasting accuracy, budget collaboration and reporting. We have seen that the process is smoother than before with live calculations, etc. Ability to provide commenatry and insight into business performance has also been streamlined.
Robust tool
What do you like best about the product?
The tool can handle a large volume of data. It is easier to build queries.
What do you dislike about the product?
We used to experience downtime a lot. However, things are getting better. Long maintenance window and unannounced downtime are some of the concerns.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use the system to plan budgeting and forecasting. Centralized reporting is possible now.
