The glue that binds everything together

  • October 25, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Infinite possibilities to automate. Every day another use case appears that this offering was the best choice for our area of the business. My problem now is not having enough hours in the day to complete all of them. Everyone who has spent time in their platform has fallen in love with it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Teaming capabilities are currently lacking but there is a release slated soon that will address this. Once this is in place, it will be a lot easier to share workflows and administer a large group of people.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automating dozens of operational headaches through Tray workflows. We're becoming a lot more efficient and precise. In the past, a lot of problems were solved by using Excel and batch updates into systems. Now, we're doing direct queries to databases through Tray and pushing them into host systems directly, skipping a long and arduous process of data cleansing through Excel.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You'll regret not signing up faster. Ask for Brian.

Great connector!

  • October 24, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the fact that we've been able to make connections to so many disparate web apps in such a short period of time. The constantly looping triggers and subsequent actions make it easier to connect the systems clients need most. There are more pathways with this connector than any other I've used before.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like anything, a taste of something good will always lead to a thirst for more. More connectors and automation triggers please!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Connecting systems that we don't natively connect to , quickly and hassle-free.

Tray.io automates event management workflow for 65,000 person healthcare organization.

  • September 20, 2017

What do you like best about the product?
I’m happy that we found Tray. The solution works flawlessly, the customer support is great, and the continued innovation will help us automate more in years to come.

Now we have 75 staff members using the solution to automate management of all our community outreach efforts across all of our facilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
We’re extremely busy at Northwell Health and sometimes I don’t have the bandwidth to add high complexity workflows in Tray myself. In that situation, I request a new configuration consulting project which Tray takes care of. It’s just a trade-off between time and resources that most growing organizations need to make.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

With Google Forms, Asana, and Tray.io, our team stays on track, communicates more efficiently and effectively, and can access historical data to help us understand how best to support an event. It’s definitely streamlined and improved our process.

• Automatically creates projects and tasks in Asana from event data submitted via Google Forms
• Populates fields in Asana for the appropriate hospital from Google Forms data
• Improves efficiency, communication, and collaboration
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Tray.io is a flexible platform with many possibilities. If you’re not sure how to go about automating workflows, just talk to one of their customer success engineers. They are very helpful and can provide ideas on how to get your specific integration done.

Tray.io

  • August 27, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tray makes it easy to solve complex integration issues with a robust, reliable, and intuitive platform for workflow automation.
What do you dislike about the product?
In a professional setting, there's a learning curve to the GUI that makes it difficult to on-board other users. This could potentially be alleviated by adding detail to the flow-chart representation of each workflow.

In a personal setting, Tray is insanely easy to use on personal projects, but the pricing model can be worrisome. You have to ask, "What if my app becomes super popular? Can I afford to use Tray, or should I find a cheaper, harder-to-use platform?"
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used Tray for everything from integrating online lead forms with my business's email platform to managing donation transactions for a mobile app.

Tray.io took my lead capture rate from 80% with my CRM's client-side methods to >99%.

Zapier on Steroids!

  • August 08, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Infinite flexibility—Tray.io can connect with any endpoint of any REST API and perform transformations, conditionals, and other complex functions with reliability and ease. I've used it to help clients realize super complex automation tasks with incredible budget efficiency, and without needing to rely on prebuilt integration endpoints.

Endless conditionals — unlike Zapier and other cloud service automation platforms, Tray lets you create many branching if/then conditions, enabling you to combine multiple scenarios (which would otherwise require a number individually setup flows) into one super powerful flow. This saves both time and resources.

Wonderful consulting support — for times when the automation I'd like to achieve is a bit over my own head, Tray's business services team is there to help me and my clients make it happen. They're smart, super capable, and highly committed to getting the job done. I can't speak highly enough about this aspect of their business.

Incredible reliability — in the 18 months that I've been working with Tray, they've only very rarely down or fallen out of sync with my cloud services. And when that has happened, they've been willing to step in and help right the problem. This is a HUGE benefit of their offering.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tray's UX can be a bit daunting and difficult for non-developers, and it lacks a pure command-line UX which some developers prefer. However, Tray's consulting services help counterbalance those limitations by helping establish your desired flow, and anyone scrappy can then take that work and clone it or tweak it as desired.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Complex roll-ups of Intercom user data into company profiles
- Automated aggregation of Intercom company and user data into powerful metrics
- Automated enrichment of email addresses via Clearbit
- Automated generation of URL2PNG screenshots triggered by new posts in a web service
- Automated detection of new posts on an open data service (Socrata) and generation of corresponding new posts on a community platform (Discourse)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Tray is the way to go if you...
- Can't access the specific API endpoint you need via Zapier or a similar service
- Need to implement logic for both sides of a conditional filter in your flow
- Need hands-on support getting a complex flow up and running

Tray is helping power our sales ops

  • August 05, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Huge savings on development time. The ability to put together complex integrations between our backend and 3rd party services using a GUI
What do you dislike about the product?
Could have more tutorial videos on each integration
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted a way to get our sales operations up and running quickly, by using Tray we managed to plug several different services together including Salesforce without much effort

Works Well, Technical, But Powerful

  • August 04, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We have used services like Zapier to accomplish automation, but Tray.io has a very specific set of features that Zapier is unable to compete with. You are able to have loops in Tray, which allows you to do things like "sync all phone calls from RingCentral to CRM (ProsperWorks)". Something like that which you are not very easily able to do in Zapier. It definitely has its place in the space.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing. It's not at all SMB friendly. Forcing of a minimum of 5 workflows and starting prices of $150+ per workflow per month is a bit outrageous. Also, the UI is a bit technical. Comparing the UI/UX to something like Zapier, you are less likely to have a random person at the company set up a workflow to solve a problem. There is a lot of logic that goes into building a good workflow and even for someone very technical (a programmer like me), there are times which I get a bit overwhelmed and confused.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Syncing of data across platforms and triggering automatons between actions. An example of this is logging all phone calls from our VoIP provider over to our CRM. You can also use it for syncing backups via API to Google Sheets for your CRM and more. New problems come up every day when consulting for our clients. Different businesses will use the product differently because it is more like "connective glue" for your SaaS services than it is a "SaaS" on its own.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a larger company and can justify the pricing, it should be able to solve some of your automation needs.

Independence! I created 19 different workflows without dev resources

  • August 01, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tray.io has taken over many of our workflows core to our operations. I love that I can create integrations and automation myself without needing to draw on scarce developer time.

The product seems to have improved every time I log in!
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation is a bit thin so I first try to figure it out on my own. If I can’t figure it out jump on in-app support chat and the team is responsive and helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tray.io lets me tie together multiple SaaS products with advanced workflow logic and without the need for custom code.

Tray binds all our enterprise applications together with precision and ease.

  • July 24, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Fitting somewhere between Zapier and Mulesoft, Tray is the glue that holds our business together. Without it we could not leverage the large investment we've made in products such as Zuora, Salesforce and Marketo. The interface is easy to use, the debugging information is mostly available and they're definitely heading in the right direction with features such as alerts and more connectors. They always respond to feedback and their support team is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
More connectors and more comprehensive features in some of the connectors we use most such as Marketo and Zuora would be helpful. The debugging has regressed from its previous incarnation but I'm assured that they are working diligently on rectifying and improving this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We run a large enterprise stack of applications at Karbon and their integration with each other is key to their success. Tray ensures everything continues to run smoothly, reducing manual overhead and administration.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure the connectors they have suit your requirements.

Easy API integration for marketing and sales operations.

  • July 19, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tray connects pretty much any services with an API and can run operations on the data between them. The ability to integrate and run automation on the data in more than two services in one workflow is very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Power and adaptability often means complexity; this is true to an extent with Tray, but you catch on quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Marketing and sales operations workflows have turned from manual tasks to automated simplicity.
