Southwest Airlines is the largest carrier by originating passengers in the US, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2021. Southwest Airlines uses a variety of AWS services, including HAQM Aurora and HAQM Elastic Kubernetes Service (HAQM EKS), to modernize its applications, and it used AWS Lake Formation, HAQM Simple Storage Service (HAQM S3), and HAQM Athena to build its first cloud-native data lake.
