Picture perfect: Kuona reimagines visual branding with AI
Startup Kuona is using generative AI to help consumer brands and retailers better manage visual content and optimize their pricing and promotions. Partnering with AWS, Kuona is leveraging a range of AWS solutions and services, including HAQM Bedrock, AWS Lambda, HAQM S3, and AWS Trainium. One of 80 startups selected from a pool of over 5,000, Kuona participated in the AWS Generative AI Accelerator Program, enabling it to easily and cost-effectively optimize and deploy the most effective solutions.
Visual branding is everything to consumer companies. But visual branding assets (such as images, video, and text) are also everywhere. Brands and retailers face the challenge of managing, organizing, and optimizing visual content spread across different campaigns, channels, and teams.
Kuona is simplifying and streamlining this process, improving and easing workflows, and unlocking new sales and marketing opportunities. “AWS is the expert in managing huge quantities of data,” says Jose Mario Sanroman, Co-Founder and CEO of Kuona, making it a natural partner for the startup. Kuona utilizes AWS Trainium chips for AI training and inference, “helping us not only process our models in half the time that we were processing before, but at half the cost,” says Sanroman.
The faster the models are trained, the faster Kuona can solve problems for its customers. Brands can process data more quickly as well as unlocking opportunities “to increase their revenue, increase their profitability, or get their product known to their end consumer,” explains Sanroman.
Kuona’s business has also received a boost as a result of the collaboration with AWS. “The AWS Generative AI Accelerator Program has been great, not only in terms of having access to products, but also getting mentorships. They're also helping business development across different countries that we're operating in.”
This has been “transformational” for the startup, concludes Sanroman, enabling it to scale its business throughout the US, Latin America, and Europe. With this global growth—and its partnership with AWS—Kuona is helping brands better manage and monetize a world of content, making a world of difference.
