Centralized Backup

AWS Backup
AWS Backup is a fully managed backup service that makes it easy to centralize and automate the back up of data across AWS services in the cloud as well as on premises using the AWS Storage Gateway. Using AWS Backup, you can centrally configure backup policies and monitor backup activity for AWS resources, such as HAQM EBS volumes, HAQM RDS databases, HAQM DynamoDB tables, HAQM EFS file systems, and AWS Storage Gateway volumes. AWS Backup automates and consolidates backup tasks previously performed service-by-service, removing the need to create custom scripts and manual processes. Object Storage

HAQM Simple Storage Service (HAQM S3)
HAQM S3 is an object storage service that stores data from anywhere – web sites and mobile apps, corporate applications, and data from IoT sensors or devices. It is designed to provide customers with the flexibility to tier data for cost optimization and the control to directly manage data access. HAQM S3 is the only cloud storage service with query-in-place functionality, allowing you to run analytics directly on your data at rest. The service also supports S3 Transfer Acceleration built to enable fast, easy, and secure data transfers over long distances. Learn more

HAQM S3 Glacier is a secure, durable, and low-cost storage class of S3 for data archiving and long-term backup. Customers can store large or small amounts of data for as little as $0.004 per gigabyte per month. The S3 Glacier storage class is ideal for archives where data is regularly retrieved and some of the data may be needed in minutes. S3 Glacier Deep Archive is a new HAQM S3 storage class that provides secure and durable object storage for long-term retention of data that is accessed once or twice in a year. From just $0.00099 per GB-month (less than one-tenth of one cent, or about $1 per TB-month), S3 Glacier Deep Archive offers the lowest cost storage in the cloud, at prices lower than storing and maintaining data in on-premises magnetic tape libraries or archiving data off-site.

Hybrid Storage

AWS Storage Gateway
AWS Storage Gateway is a hybrid storage service that enables on-premises applications to seamlessly connect to AWS storage services HAQM S3, HAQM S3 Glacier, and HAQM EBS. You can use the service to transfer data into the cloud with common storage interfaces, such as NFS and iSCSI. The service supports three different data-transfer modes so you can move files into HAQM S3 as objects, block storage volumes into HAQM EBS, and tape backups into HAQM S3 and HAQM S3 Glacier. Learn more

Block Storage

HAQM Elastic Block Storage (HAQM EBS)
HAQM EBS provides persistent block storage volumes for use with HAQM EC2 instances. Each volume is automatically replicated to protect from component failure. With HAQM EBS, customers can scale usage up or down within minutes and only pay for what is provisioned. The service also supports a snapshot feature that lets customers preserve and backup HAQM EBS volumes to be reinstatiated for use with HAQM EC2. Learn more 

File Storage

HAQM Elastic File Service (HAQM EFS)
HAQM EFS provides scalable file storage. When mounted on HAQM EC2 instances, an HAQM EFS file system provides a standard file system interface and enables integration of HAQM EFS with existing applications. Multiple HAQM EC2 instances can access an HAQM EFS file system — serving as a common data source for workloads and applications. HAQM EFS has a built-in backup feature that automatically creates backups of the file system on a customer-defined schedule. Learn more 

Data Transfer

AWS Snowball
AWS Snowball is a petabyte-scale data-transfer service designed to cost-effectively move data to AWS with secure, tamper-proof physical devices. The service mitigates common challenges with large-scale data transfers into and out of the cloud, including high network costs, long transfer times, and security concerns. Transferring data with AWS Snowball can be as little as one-fifth of the cost of high-speed Internet. The device is built to be tamper-proof and includes data encryption. Learn more

AWS Snowball Edge
AWS Snowball Edge is a 100 terabyte-scale data-transfer service. Like AWS Snowball, the service is designed to cost-effectively move data to the cloud with secure physical devices, with the additional benefit of onboard storage and compute capabilities. This means that customers can use AWS Snowball Edge as a temporary storage tier or to run workloads in remote or offline locations. Customers can cluster multiple AWS Snowball Edges together to form a local storage tier and process data so your applications can run even when they are not able to access the cloud. Learn more

AWS Snowmobile
AWS Snowmobile is an exabyte-scale data-transfer service used to move large amounts of data to the AWS Cloud. You can transfer up to 100 petabytes per AWS Snowmobile, a 45-foot long ruggedized shipping container pulled by a semi-trailer truck. AWS Snowmobile uses multiple layers of security to help protect your data, including data encryption, tamper-proof devices, dedicated security personnel, GPS tracking, alarm monitoring, 24/7 video surveillance, and an optional escort security vehicle while in transit. Learn more

AWS Kinesis Firehose
AWS Kinesis Firehose is a fully managed service that captures, transforms, encrypts, and loads streaming data into AWS for use with HAQM S3, HAQM Redshift, HAQM Elasticsearch Services, and Splunk. It is designed to enable near real-time analytics with existing business intelligence tools and dashboards you’re already using today. The service automatically scales to match the throughput of your data, requires no ongoing administration, and compresses data to minimize storage requirements. There is no minimum fee or setup costs, and you only pay for the amount of data you transmit. Learn more

AWS Migration Hub
AWS Migration Hub provides a single location to track the progress of application migrations across multiple AWS and partner solutions. The AWS Migration Hub allows you to use the tools that best fit your needs, while providing visibility into the status of migrations across your portfolio of applications. There is no additional cost for using AWS Migration Hub and you only pay for the cost of the individual migration tools you use and any resources being consumed on AWS. Learn more

AWS Database Migration Service
AWS Database Migration Service helps you transfer databases to AWS quickly and securely. The source database remains fully operational during the migration, minimizing downtime to applications that rely on that database. The service can transfer data to and from the most widely-used commercial and open-source databases. When migrating databases to HAQM Aurora, HAQM Redshift, or HAQM DynamoDB, you can use the service for free for up to six months. Learn more
